Binge-worthy Netflix show Daredevil has been one of the highest-rated Marvel shows since its release in 2015 and is great viewing for both fans and non-fans alike. Blinded as a child, the show’s main character Matt Murdock is a lawyer by day and vigilante by night. Matt Murdock fights crime in New York City as Daredevil with the aid of his remaining heightened senses.

Aside from Daredevil’s famous crime-fighting red suit, which comes later in the series, Matt Murdock’s glasses are a key accessory to the blind lawyer, along with his sharp suits by day.

Matt Murdock, played by Charlie Cox, is seen throughout the Netflix show wearing some uniquely round glasses with red lenses.

What Sunglasses Does Matt Murdock Wear?

The sunglasses that Charlie Cox wears as Matt Murdock in Daredevil are actually just a prop pair of custom-made sunglasses, as quoted by the costume designer Stephanie Maslansky on Fashionista.com:

“His sunglasses are a prop. I worked very closely with our amazing prop master Michael Jortner. The glasses were Matt Murdock’s most important accessory and it had to be correct for this current, modern date and it also had to pay homage to what was familiar to fans throughout. I think that Matt tried on… I want to say close to 100 pairs of glasses to figure out which one should work. People had a lot to say about them, including Charlie”.
