Netflix’s latest film Spiderhead stars an excellent Chris Hemsworth and Miles Teller in a strange prison/laboratory in which convicts are offered a chance to volunteer as medical subjects for new drugs in exchange for shorter sentences.
Chris Hemsworth steals the show as Steve Abnesti, the initially charming, well-dressed genius in charge of the operation. Here, we take a look at the Chris Hemsworth glasses featured throughout Spiderhead.
Chris Hemsworth Spiderhead Glasses
Spiderhead director Joseph Kosinski made specific design choices for the look of the location, setpieces and styles worn by the actors within the film.
Brutalism is the architecture of choice for the prison, the sleek, postmodernist building and its open spaces offer a strange mix of both comfort for the prisoners while also giving an oddly oppressive vibe.
Steve Abnesti’s eyeglasses of choice appear to have been selected to match the brutalist style of the building, but somehow seem friendly at first thanks to Chris Hemsworth’s excellent performance.
The film gives us plenty of close-ups of these Chris Hemsworth glasses, literally framing the intensity of his performance.
Ray-Ban RB6444 as worn by Chris Hemsworth in Spiderhead
The Ray-Ban glasses worn by Chris Hemsworth throughout the movie Spiderhead are the Ray-Ban RX6444 in Gold. These half-rimmed metal eyeglasses frames feature a double bridge, rubber ear-pieces and a squared-off lens shape.
Ray-Ban lists these with the model code RB6444 2500, but these are usually listed as RX6444 elsewhere. The ‘RX’ is used to represent the fact that these are optical eyeglasses rather than sunglasses.
You should be able to find the Ray-Ban RX6444 glasses on Amazon here.
Chris Hemsworth Sunglasses in Spiderhead
During one outdoor scene, Chris Hemsworth is also seen wearing these cool-looking sunglasses. These Chris Hemsworth Spiderhead sunglasses appear to be Garrett Leight Brooks sunglasses, similar to those worn by Ryan Reynolds in The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard.
These cured cellulose acetate frames by Garrett Leight have a square shape with a keyhole-style bridge and polarized lenses. Chris Hemsworth wears these sunglasses in color Java Drift with Brown polarized lenses. The Garrett Leight Brooks are designed for medium faces.
Oakley Sunglasses in Spiderhead
There are not too many other pairs of sunglasses or eyeglasses to be seen in Spiderhead, only a brief scene early on in which a couple of Spiderhead security guards appear to be wearing what may be Oakley sunglasses.
