Matt Damon and Christian Bale team up to take on the might of Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966 in their latest movie Ford v Ferrari (Also known as: Le Mans ’66). Based on true events, the film covers a well documented and epic historical rivalry between the car giants and is an absolute blast for anyone who loves a good movie about motor racing… sadly, such movies are few and far between so let’s make the most of this one!
Naturally, given the 60’s setting of the film, Matt Damon and Christian Bale’s Ford V Ferrari sunglasses are classic styles that best represent the era; that said, they still look pretty great today, in fact, the sunglasses are almost as cool as the cars!
Christian Bale Wears Ray-Ban Sunglasses in Ford v Ferrari
Christian Bale plays race car driver Ken Miles in the movie Ford v Ferrari and is seen wearing Ray-Ban 4089 Balorama sunglasses throughout the film.
These classic sunglasses by Ray-Ban have a black frame and dark lenses with two pairs of rivets on each temple tip and side, just before the Ray-Ban logo. This is a classic Ray-Ban frame based on an original design by Ray-Ban back when they were still owned by Bausch & Lomb – then with the model number L2870.
The vintage version of these Balorama sunglasses didn’t actually feature the Ray-Ban branding on the temples, but the frames worn by Christian Bale in the film still look great, despite the update. In fact his character Ken Miles is so taken with his Ray-Ban’s he even wears them with his helmet while driving.
You can find these awesome Ran Ban 4089 Balorama sunglasses on Amazon right here.
Ford v Ferrari Sunglasses worn by Matt Damon as Carroll Shelby
Matt Damon plays the legendary car designer Carroll Shelby in the movie Ford v Ferrari, creating the Ford GT40 for the event which would go down in history as one of the true greats in automobile racing.
We love this Carroll Shelby character poster for Ford V Ferrari, it really gives a good view of the sunglasses worn by Matt Damon in the film.
The sunglasses worn by Matt Damon as Carroll Shelby in the movie are possibly Entourage of 7 – Beacon as reported by one of our helpful readers. However, at $400, these don’t come cheap!
If you’re looking for a more affordable alternative, we think these Oliver Peoples Fairmont Sunglasses are a very close match to those worn by Matt Damon in Ford v Ferrari with their semi-transparent amber frame and green lenses. You can find these on Amazon here.
