Kimi Räikkönen made a blinding start to his 2013 Formula One season down under at the Australian Grand Prix last weekend with an impressive win from 7th on the grid.

In fact, “The Ice Man” is my personal tip for the 2013 F1 World Championship; I actually had money on him winning in Melbourne myself… sadly, my bet didn’t quite pay off as I had picked him to get the hattrick – Pole Position, Fastest Lap, and Race Winner.  Oh well, 2 out of 3 shows I was on the right track.

So anyway, what about the important business – those sunglasses…

Kimi Raikkonen Sunglasses at The Australian GP 2013

Kimi Raikkonen was seen wearing Oakley Dispatch Sunglasses throughout the weekend of the Australian GP in Melbourne.  Sadly I wasn’t able to attend the race myself this year, so yes, I did have to snap these pictures from my TV, but even so, you can clearly see that Kimi is wearing the original Dispatch, which is actually an old model by Oakley.

The Oakley Dispatch Sunglasses worn by Kimi Raikkonen are technically an old model.  The exact colour option worn by Kimi at the Australian GP seems to be a custom design with black front, white arms, black O icon and black & white barcode sliders on the band or trim near the hinge.

The lens is possibly the Black Iridium Polarized option, since it’s the Iridium that gives the lens a mirrored effect, although that doesn’t show up in these computer generated images of the frame.

Kimi Raikkonen seems to be a big fan of the Oakley Dispatch model, I also spotted him wearing the same frames during the pre-season buildup/testing in a couple of different color variations.

The color option Kimi wore during Winter testing here seems to be the Oakley Dispatch 909005 – Polished Clear Chrome Iridium.  Unfortunately, if you are looking for this model yourself it could be a tricky item to find as it seems to be in limited supply these days.

Kimi is also seen wearing this same frame in various images on his own website at www.kimiraikkonen.com.  He can also be seen wearing the newer Oakley Dispatch II sunglasses, which were the sunglasses of choice for his Lotus F1 teammate Romain Grosjean during the 2012 F1 season.

Kimi also wore these slightly lower key black Oakley Dispatch sunglasses (below) during the 2013 F1 pre-season.  He really seems to like these sunglasses.
