Fernando Alonso had a pretty successful start to his 2013 F1 World Championship, finishing in 2nd place behind race winner Kimi Raikkonen.
We’ve talked about Fernando Alonso and his Oakley Jupiter Squared sunglasses on this site before, but it seems that the Oakley sponsored Ferrari F1 driver has now updated his sunglasses to a newer model…
UPDATE: Unfortunately these sunglasses are now discontinued, but you can find replacement lenses for these on Amazon here.
Oakley Garage Rock Sunglasses worn by Fernando Alonso
The new sunglasses of choice for Fernando Alonso are these Oakley Garage Rock Sunglasses in colour 917508 – Blue Woodgrain with Grey Polarized Lenses. Alonso has been seen wearing these sunglasses both in pre-season testing and at the Australian GP in Melbourne last weekend.
This new model by Oakley is a salute to the 50’s and 60’s music era when rock bands would jam out in their garage creating musical masterpieces. The unique metal detailing on the temple is inspired by electric guitars, with the retro riff board giving a smooth classic look.
Made from Oakley’s lightweight O Matter material, the Garage Rock is designed for all-day comfort.
Oakley Garage Rock sunglasses are available in numerous other colour options both polarized and non-polarized. Here are a couple of other colour options I think Alonso would like. I’m sure we’ll be seeing him wearing some of these later in the year.
